H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of UAE visited Azerbaijan بيان مشترك في ختام زيارة عبدالله بن زايد إلى باكو : تعزيز التعاون بين الإمارات وأذربيجان في مختلف المجالات

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan paid an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan on 21-22 May 2017.

Sheikh Abdullah visited the tomb of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in the honorary tombs and laid wreathe on the tomb. He also visited the martyrs’ cemetery.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. On 22 May.

Recalling with pleasure his last meeting with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President Ilham Aliyev noted that the two countries made great strides in strengthening friendship, brotherhood and cooperation over this period. The head of state hailed relations between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates, adding that these ties are developing dynamically. President Ilham Aliyev underlined that the political, economic and trade cooperation is developing on a right track. Touching upon his yesterday`s meeting with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President Ilham Aliyev described this meeting as a sign of great mutual interest in developing bilateral bonds between the two countries. The head of state said the visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Azerbaijan is an important step in this regard.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed greetings of the leadership of the United Arab Emirates to President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan. The UAE minister said he is proud of the development of the bilateral relations, and praised the important role of President Ilham Aliyev`s leadership.

They stressed the recent increase in the number of tourists coming from the United Arab Emirates to Azerbaijan, and described it as a sign of tranquility and hospitality in the country.

The sides exchanged views over cooperation between the two countries in transport, export-import, trade, tourism, infrastructure projects and other areas.

The head of state thanked for the greetings of the UAE leadership and asked Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to extend his greetings to the leadership of the United Arab Emirates.

Sheikh Abdulla bin Zayed al Nahyan was also received by H.E. Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

On May 22 H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Elmar Mammadyarov in the presence of members of both delegations.

The two ministers expressed their satisfaction about recent developments in the political dialogue between both countries, and stressed their mutual respect and support for their sovereignty and the unity of their territories while acknowledging respect to their international borders.

Sheikh Abdullah confirmed the UAE’s support for settling the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the Nagorno-Karabakh region based on the sovereignty of Azerbaijan and the unity of its territories.

Both sides highlighted the strong relations between the UAE and Azerbaijan, which was founded by the late President Heydar Aliyev and the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan during their historic meeting at the Islamic Cooperation Summit in Casablanca in 1994.

Both sides stressed the importance of the valuable role of the Joint Government Committee established in 2009, to promote co-operation in the economic, energy, tourism, agricultural, health, investment, petrochemical industries and financial and banking services' fields, as well as the exchange of experience between the Jebel Ali Port in Dubai and the Maritime Trade Port in Baku.

Mammadyarov stated that exempting UAE nationals from visa entry requirements to Azerbaijan contributed to the 30-fold increase in tourist numbers from the UAE in 2016 while highlighting the increase of weekly flights to 30 flights per week between both countries.

Sheikh Abdullah congratulated Azerbaijan for successfully hosting the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games, which would further strengthen ties among the Islamic countries, while Mammadyarov praised the participation of UAE athletes in the games.

The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Standards, Metrology and Patents Committee of Azerbaijan and the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology.

Sheikh Abdulla bin Zayed Al Nahyan also participated at the Closing Ceremony of the 4^th Islamic Solidarity Games, being held in Baku from 12 to 22 May 2017.

وصدر بيان صحافي مشترك لسمو الشيخ عبد الله بن زايد آل نهيان وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، وإلمار مامادياروف وزير خارجية جمهورية أذربيجان في ختام الزيارة الرسمية لسموه يوم أمس الأول إلى أذربيجان، والتي التقى خلالها إلهام علييف رئيس جمهورية أذربيجان ومهربان علييفا النائب الأول للرئيس.

وقام سمو الشيخ عبد الله بن زايد آل نهيان بزيارة ضريح الزعيم القومي حيدر علييف في المقابر الفخرية ووضع إكليلاً من الزهور أمام ضريحه، كما زار سموه مقبرة الشهداء ووضع إكليلاً من الزهور على نصب «المشعل الأبدي» التذكاري للشهداء.

وخلال الزيارة عقد لقاء بين إلمار مامادياروف وزير خارجية جمهورية أذربيجان وسمو الشيخ عبد الله بن زايد آل نهيان وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، بحضور أعضاء الوفدين.

وعبر الوزيران خلال اللقاء عن سعادتهما بما وصل إليه الحوار السياسي بين البلدين من تطور، وأكدا الاحترام والدعم المتبادل لسيادة كلا البلدين ووحدة أراضيهما وحدودهما المعترف بها دولياً.

وأكد سمو الشيخ عبد الله بن زايد آل نهيان دعم دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة لتسوية النزاع بين أذربيجان وأرمينيا حول إقليم ناغورنو- كاراباخ، استناداً إلى مبدأ سيادة أذربيجان ووحدة أراضيها وفقاً لقرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة.

دعائم

وشدد الجانبان على العلاقات المتينة بين أذربيجان ودولة الإمارات، والتي أرسى دعائمها الزعيم الراحل حيدر علييف، والمغفور له بإذن الله الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان مؤسس دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.

وذلك خلال اللقاء التاريخي الذي جمعهما في قمة منظمة التعاون الإسلامي بكازبلانكا عام 1994. كما أكدا النمو المتواصل الذي تشهده العلاقات بين البلدين في ظل القيادة الرشيدة والجهود المخلصة لإلهام علييف رئيس جمهورية أذربيجان وصاحب السمو الشيخ خليفة بن زايد آل نهيان رئيس الدولة، حفظه الله.

دور

وأشار الجانبان إلى الدور الكبير الذي تلعبه اللجنة الحكومية المشتركة بين جمهورية أذربيجان ودولة الإمارات، والتي تأسست عام 2009 في تعزيز التعاون في مجالات الاقتصاد والطاقة والسياحة والزراعة والصحة والنقل والاستثمار والصناعات البتروكيماوية والخدمات المالية والمصرفية. وأشادا بالتعاون وتبادل الخبرات بين ميناء جبل علي بدبي وميناء التجارة البحرية بالعاصمة الأذربيجانية باكو.

ونوه إلمار مامادياروف إلى أن تطبيق قرار إعفاء مواطني دولة الإمارات من شرط الحصول على تأشيرة الدخول المسبقة، أسهم في ارتفاع عدد السياح من دولة الإمارات إلى أذربيجان بمعدل 30 ضعفا عام 2016 وذلك مقارنة بالعام السابق، مشيراً إلى النمو في عدد الرحلات الجوية والذي وصل حتى الآن إلى 30 رحلة أسبوعيا بين مختلف مدن البلدين.

وأضاف إلمار مامادياروف إن الخطط الرامية لزيادة عدد الرحلات من شأنها أن تعزز من التواصل بين شعبي البلدين وأن تساهم في نمو قطاعات الأعمال.
